Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal recessive disease most common in individuals of Caucasian and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, but also occurring in other ethnic groups. Symptoms vary from mild to severe, and include life-threatening lung infections, digestion problems, diarrhea, poor growth and infertility. Average lifespan today is less than 40 years of age.
